About GjD Photography

I’m a commercial photographer based in Ayrshire, working with brands, agencies and organisations across product, portrait and campaign imagery.

My background in photography goes back nearly 30 years, beginning in London in the 1990s, where I worked across commercial, press, magazine and event photography. That experience still shapes the way I work today: carefully planned when the brief requires it, quick to adapt when things change, and always focused on producing images with a clear purpose.

Today, my work includes product and drinks photography, brand imagery, business portraits, people at work, events and creative commercial projects. I work from my studio in Girvan and on location across Ayrshire, Glasgow, central Scotland and further afield.

Alongside my professional photography experience, I have a First Class BA Honours degree in Digital Art and a Distinction in MA Creative Media Practice from the University of the West of Scotland. This gives my work a balance of practical commercial experience and a wider understanding of image making, visual culture and creative communication.

Whether working directly with a business or alongside a design or marketing agency, I aim to create polished, purposeful imagery that supports the brand, the brief and the people behind it.
