Studio Portraits
All portraits are bespoke and one of a kind.
I use light, shadows and focus to create a unique portrait of the person in front of the camera.
Every time I try to take the best photograph I possibly can at that moment, trying to make it better than
all the ones I've taken before it.
It's not about placing someone in front of the same basic background & lights every time,
tell them to smile & take the same photograph over & over again.
It's about capturing a moment with the person who in front of the camera,
where everything just clicked.

From the initial enquiry, customers are invited to come to the studio for a consultation.
Here we will discuss what type of portrait you are looking for, who the person is, and how you want them to look.
We will talk about different background options, and the type of lighting you would like.
So when you arrive for your shoot, we all know the style and feel of the portrait you are looking for.
From then, we will book a time slot which is convenient.
A deposit is required at the time of booking.
This is because I have to prepare the lighting and backgrounds for every shoot in advance, as each one is unique.
And also because there are a limited amount of sessions available each week.

Family photography in the comfort of your own home or location of your choice.

We will have an initial consultation, to discuss how you want the photographs to look, where can discuss possible different set-ups and locations / rooms in the home or exterior locations for the photos to be taken.
I have many years of experience from my time working on lifestyle / at home shoots for Hello and OK magazines where we would use the home as a location, showing off both your family and home to it's best potential.
Or these shoots can be done at home, or at any location of your choosing, maximising the potential of the shoot in some of the wonderful landscapes in south west Scotland. Using natural light or exterior studio flash, to create that magazine editorial look.
